Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

Together, we will strive to walk together in Christian love. We will delight in the glory of God, depend on the presence of God, grow in the knowledge of God, and submit to the Word of God as the all-sufficient authority in our lives and in His church.

Together, we will watch over one another in brotherly love; pray for one another regularly and serve one another selflessly. We will share each other’s joys and help bear each other’s burdens. We will encourage and build up one another in our speech and with our example.

Because we belong to Jesus, and because we desire to honor Him in all things, all members of this congregation are expected to strive:

A. To gather weekly for the purpose of worshiping Jesus, and learning from His Word in both small and large settings.

B. To honor Jesus with our stewardship, faithfully and cheerfully bringing tithes and offerings as an act of worship, so that we can demonstrate our faith and support the work of His church.

C. To maintain strong family relationships emphasizing God’s desire for godly homes and marriages.

D. To desire holiness in our lifestyles committing to do nothing that would bring shame upon Jesus or His church, or violate the clear teachings of Scripture.

E. To love one another deeply and to build friendships that encourage our spiritual growth and provide for our needs.

F. To serve Jesus through His church by developing and using our gifts and talents that He has graciously given to us.

G. To demand to be loved enough to be corrected should we wander from the truth, become immersed in sin, or bring shame upon Christ, His church, or our testimony.

H. To penetrate the lostness of our community and world with the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ through our personal and collective witness.
