Today marks the day that we celebrate our independence as a nation. We have been blessed greatly in this country. With those blessings we have a great responsibility as well. America has the resources to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus. No other country has been blessed materially like the United States. God did not bless this nation without a purpose. God wants us to use those blessings to give and to go to the world and make disciples. Pray that we will be faithful to do our part at MABC.
Pray for our nation. It has been said that America is great because America is good. This country was founded on the principles we find in the Bible. Pray that we will turn back to those beginnings and seek God’s blessing again on our nation.
Pray for our leaders. America is in great need for honest leaders with integrity. Pray that God will grip the hearts of those in position of authority. God tells us that we should pray for those who have rule over us. We should be praying for our President, Congress and other leaders of our country.
Pray for a revival in America. More than anything else, our nation needs a spiritual awakening. The scriptures tell us that it must begin among God’s people. God’s people are the light in a very dark world. May our lights so shine before men that they will glorify God.
“If me people who called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” - (2 Chronicles 7:14)
