The Bible teaches us that we are to do good works. As Christians, we do not do good works to earn our salvation, nor to bring praise to ourselves. We do good works to glorify God. We are to do good works that “men may see our good works and glorify God”.
Pray for the New York Mission Team. The youth from our church will be doing various forms of service while in New York. One thing that the students will be involved with will be ministering to public servants. Much attention (and deservedly so) was given to those who served as fireman in New York City during 9/11. Many times we fail to thank God for those who do these jobs at risk of their own lives. This week our youth will be ministering to public servants in New York. Pray for the students and the public servants as well. Pray for those who do not know Christ.
Pray for the Peru Mission Team. Another aspect of ministry that the Peru Team will be involved with is ministry to younger children in the schools. This time of the year is Winter in South America and school is in session. Pray for the mission team as they teach Christian values to the students. This is a great opportunity to share not only good moral behavior, but more importantly, why. Pray that God will allow this team to share the gospel and that it will penetrate the hearts of the children in Peru. The Word of God is powerful, and when proclaimed, will change lives.
